I have been practising family law for the past 26 years and since 1995 I have had my own firm. I am an experienced family law litigator with many years of court experience but I have come to believe that the decisions that people reach themselves are the best for  individuals and for families.  In addition to my collaborative practice I act as parent’s counsel for child protection matters in provincial court.

I have always given back to my community and have been active in professional associations for many years . In addition I  have served on the board of the Need Crisis Line for 8 years including being chair of that board for two years.  I have taught law for many years as a sessional instructor at the University of Victoria.  In addition I have acting as a”mock ” judge for many years for the Professional Legal Training Course put on by the Law Society of B. C. In my leisure time I play the oboe for the Greater Victoria Concert Band, spend time with my children .  My husband sings (in the chorus ) for Pacific Opera of Victoria , so I spend time supporting him ( and attending operas!) I also enjoy acting and being in musicals .  I was just recently in the Jane Austen Society of Victoria’s production of Lady Susan .

I have two young children of my own so I can relate to the issues that my clients are concerned about.   I keep my legal fees reasonable ($200.00 an hour)as I believe in giving value for my clients.  I also take legal services society (legal aid) referrals. I also fully understand the emotional toil that a separation can bring and will listen to you with compassion and integrity.
